Nu

The engine has a promising future. It is clearly an experiment due to the language F#, but it is nice to see something new on the market. It has a nice approach using the Tiled editor for 2D and Blender for 3D. The only cons in the future could be support for OpenGL 4.1, which is old, but as the dev wrote on his page, it is widely supported.   Links Website:  Nu Download:  Github, getting started page Community:  Wiki  |  Discord

Hology Engine

It is a new engine with Web and 3D in mind. It has an active development and updated documentation.  The engine needs Visual Studio code, and if you want to publish the ages you need to use the electron in the case of desktop app. It is proprietary, but it has a clear subscription plan. Comfy

This time engine is inspired by projects like love2D or Raylib. It is focused on 2D, ergonomics, and productivity. Performance could come later. Looks like the author is working actively on it and has made significant improvements (4x times faster with the latest release). It is made mainly for 2D and Indie games, but the code is open and could be forced like the author did. Traktor

New Year, New Engine, the old style of blogging. Traktor is a tool for hardworking people in my country. But in this case, as the maintainers say, they are looking more for optimizing and polishing rather than building another sandbox. It is small, ready for 3D, and open for customization. It has Lua scripting language and editor, and the license is MPL. Official platforms are Linux and Windows with unofficial support for iOS and Android. The problem is that it does not have documentation. But it has only 1.5 years of development and is still in Alpha, no one is perfect in their side projects.
